I’ve recently dedicated many hours to learning the
art of organic marketing through Social Media and would love to share some of
my success secrets with you in this series of Blog Posts.
In this first post let’s take a look at how most
people in Affiliate or Network Marketing use Social Media.
Most use the “Scatter Gun” method; that is, they
kind of throw things out there in a random fashion without really giving any
thought to what the post is aiming to achieve. They hope someone, anyone, will
engage with their post; they hope someone will show interest in or buy their
product; they hope to increase their audience and grow their business. But although
hope spring eternal, as they say, is it not an effective marketing strategy!
So, what do I know about Network Marketing? Well, let me give you a bit of my history.
Way
back in 2003, my husband and I grew our brand new dental practice in the Highlands of Scotland, purely through Network Marketing. You may think we were crazy but we built a
boutique dental office on the side of our house, in the middle of a field, four
miles from the nearest bus stop.
Not only was this a crazy thing to do, but we only
invited the very best clients from our old dental practice 15 miles away to
join us. We had no listing in Yellow Pages (remember that old marketing
method?), no exterior signage & no newspaper advertisements. Instead we
educated our 572 initial clients to be our salesforce.
We encouraged them to tell the stories we created about
our business, to share our monthly newsletter which was more about our
adventures than about dentistry, we rewarded them for bringing in A grade
clients just like themselves and we had a blast. Within 6 months we had a waiting list of potential clients who were desperate to buy into a little piece of exclusivity. We crated a Legion of Raving Fans!
Now though, especially during the limitations imposed
by the pandemic, even the best Network Marketers have had to find a new way of
reaching their target market through Social Media and I’m going to give you
some positive hints and tips on doing this the right way.
The first thing you need to understand before posting
ANYTHING, is that you need to find ways to effectively connect with your
audience without spamming. To do this you need an absolute belief that Network
Marketing works and that, in this work from home era, the profession is growing
exponentially. You also need to believe that the effort you invest into creating
your Social Media posts is going to be worth your time and effort.
Social Media is your friend…used efficiently and
correctly it will help get you on your road to success.
